Canada has a keen interest in autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence, and in how these technologies can make day-to-day life more convenient. To help make that convenience a reality, Darwin Innovation Group has established an office at the Life Sciences Innovation Hub in Calgary, Alberta.
Originally founded in the UK, Darwin is a technology company specialising in autonomous mobility, AI-driven systems integration, and communications technology for vehicles. Having operated the Darwin Autonomous Shuttle service in Oxfordshire for three and a half years, Darwin has extensive experience of the real-world operation of self-driving vehicles on public roads.
By collaborating with the University of Calgary and other local establishments, Darwin is working to share its expertise, refine autonomous vehicle learning techniques, and ultimately establish self-driving transportation services in Canada.
Darwin has previously visited Ontario as part of an Innovate UK delegation and participated in an AI discussion hosted by the High Commission of Canada in the UK. We’re delighted to solidify our relationship with Canada through the opening of a Canadian office, and we’re looking forward to achieving new things together.
